BRIDGWATER'S UFC star Mark Godbeer was defeated in his first bout last night in Belfast.
He was fighting American Justin Ledet in a heavyweight bout as part of preliminary card for UFC Fight Night 99 event at the SSE Arena in the Northern Irish capital.
The initially traded blows with Ledet getting some slightly cleaner strikes in and saw an opening to take Godbeer down.
In the scramble Ledet managed to secure a submission hold and ultimately forced Godbeer to tap out.
The stoppage came after 2mins 15seconds of the first round, meaning Ledet is now unbeaten in all of his eight professional fights.
The loss ended a three fight winning streak for Godbeer, who fought for Bellator and BAMMA before signing with the UFC.
