Avon and Somerset Police are asking the public to be vigilant after three bikes, with a shared valued of more than £8500, were taken from a Bridgwater cycle shop.

The incident happened around 9pm on Saturday March 6 when the mountain bikes were taken from the shop in Colley Lane.

Entry was forced into the shop and the three bikes taken.

One is a Giant Glory Advanced mountain bike which is yellow, black and blue with full suspension – forks and frame – and disc brakes; a second is a Trek Remedy 8 which is a black frame with yellow colouring, full suspension and disk brakes; and the third is a specialised Enduro Comp 650B, which is totally black and has full suspension and disc brakes.

A police spokesman said: "We believe a number of cars and a cyclist may have passed the building around the time the burglary was taking place who might have information to help our enquiries. If anyone believes they saw anything suspicious, we’d like to hear from them.

"We would also be keen to hear from anyone who has been offered one of the above bikes and are appealing for bike shops, cycle club members, second-hand shops and those attending car boot sales to be vigilant and report anything suspicious to us."

If you have any information to help, contact police at Bridgwater on 101, quoting reference 5216049113.
