STUART Bingham was unable to pull off another final frame success as he lost the Ladbrokes World Grand Prix snooker final to Shaun Murphy tonight.
Twenty-four hours ago the Basildon player defeated Joe Perry 6-5 in a winner-takes-all last frame decider.
But the world champion was unable repeat that feat as he lost 10-9 to Murphy in Llandudno to avenge his 18-15 defeat in the final of the World Championship at the Crucible last May.
Murphy raced into a 4-1 lead in the first session, despite making a highest break of just 58.
But just as he had against Perry, Bingham hit back by reeling off four frames in a row to lead 5-4 going into the evening session, having made breaks of 55, 93 and 74.
Murphy compiled breaks of 94 and 120 to take a 9-8 lead. Bingham leveled to set up final frame decider which Murphy claimed to secure the winner’s £100,000 prize money, with Bingham receiving £35,000.
