Staff who work at the Morrisons store in Burnham were officially told this week that the supermarket would close on Sunday November 29.
After weeks of campaigning to stop the closure, workers, residents and holiday makers have been left angry and upset about the news.
A Morrisons spokesman said: "The last day of trading at the Morrisons store on Burnham's seafront will be Sunday November 29."
On Monday night's town council meeting, people turned up with placards in protest to save the shop, urging the council to step in.
The store will be one of 11 across the UK to shut, which includes West Bromwich, Salford, Castletown in Sunderland, Clevedon, Little Hulton, Northallerton, Oldbury, Shildon, Streatham and Tyldesley.
