LOCAL animal activists were on parade in Spaxton on Sunday to raise money for Moon Bear Rescue.
Supporters took part in a sponsored walk starting from Spaxton village hall to raise money for Animals Asia, which works in China to free the Asiatic moon bears from the conditions on the bear farms.
Moon bear rescue co-ordinator Sue Warrell said: “The walk went really well – it was a great success.
“Angela and Mike Merrifield and Nicola Williams did an amazing amount of work and were the driving force behind it all.
“We have another fundraising event on 23rd August at Carhampton Recreation Ground.”
