THE recovery effort to get the villages of Moorland and Fordgate back to how they were prior to the winter floods had a helping hand from the TSB Customer Value Management team in Bristol.
Forty-two staff members attended to help out with the Somerset Emergency Volunteers at the end of last month as part of TSB’s ‘Day to make a difference’ initiative.
The team helped to paint fences and the exterior of a house, sanded door frames, erected a greenhouse and even chopped wood in preparation for the fast approaching winter nights.
SEV is a specialist group set up by Somerset County Council following the Somerset flooding in December 2013.
The aim of the project is to manage and support volunteer activity to enable the volunteers to provide practical help to those affected by the floods.
Sadie Foster, Assistant Operations Manager, Somerset Emergency Volunteers, said: “It’s the first time we’ve accommodated TSB and they were a pleasure to work with.”
