A MAN had to be rescued after his car rolled into a ditch and started filling with water near Bridgwater.
Two fire engines and a rescue crew were sent to the scene at The Causeway in Woolavington yesterday (Monday) just before 11.30am.
On arrival crews confirmed one vehicle upside down in a water-filled ditch, with one uninjured male inside.
Crews used small tools to cut away a hedgerow to gain access to man who was left in the care of the ambulance service.
A spokesperson from South West Ambulance Service said: “We responded to a road traffic collision at 11.24pm on Monday. One male casualty was trapped in the car with water also coming inside the vehicle.
“Police and fire services were also at the scene. The male casualty suffered no major injury.”
