EXTREME sports fans were out in force on Saturday as they took part in a skate jam at Bridgwater’s new skatepark.

Officially opened on December 14, 2013, the skate park at Friarn Avenue was full of people out on skateboards, bikes and scooters.

Organised by Bridgwater YMCA and Sedgemoor District Council and run by Crucial BMX, the event ran from noon until 4pm.

John Ennals, chair of Bridgwater YMCA, said: “It is great to see so many young people using all elements of the skatepark.

“The YMCA is so proud to be a part of this exciting Bridgwater project.”
