FLOODING has caused the closure of New Road, North Curry, both ways.

The A361 main road both ways between Riverside, Burrowbridge, and Cuts Road, East Lyng, is also closed as it is underwater.

Stathe Road has re-opened after flooding earlier forced its closure at Stathe Drove.

And why is there flooding? Because our politicians are all talk and no do, if they got their fingers out and commissioned full dredging of the Parrett and the Tone as they used to under the old Sedgemoor drainage board this might not have happened, but as usual, profit before quality. If our political masters lived on a flood plain then something would be done pretty quickly, but as we're in deepest Somerset we get nothing, as usual.
