THE Rotary Club of Burnham’s annual Swimarathon takes place at Brean Splash on Sunday (February 8) from 10am.
The Rotary Swimarathons have proved highly popular with local voluntary organisations and businesses raising substantial sums of money for their chosen charities.
This year’s event will follow the lines of last year and medals and certificates will be presented to all participants.
An entry fee of £25 will be payable to the Rotary Club for each team entered, all teams will retain the money they raise by sponsorship, and if they represent charitable organisations their charities will be able to claim Gift Aid where applicable.
Standard sponsorship forms will be available from the Rotary Club for the use of participating teams.
Teams may consist of between two and eight swimmers and more than one team may be entered by any group or business.
Teams will swim for a maximum of 50 minutes – this is not a competition; swimmers can be sponsored by the length or at a flat rate.
Several organisations have already entered teams and more are welcome.
Names of swimmers need to be submitted to the organiser, President Elect Ashley Edwards, on 01278-794304 or by e-mail to info@ashleyedwards.co.uk.
Ashley can also supply any further information needed and will welcome offers of sponsorship.
