ONE of Britain’s finest 33-piece orchestras will commemorate the 100th and 75th anniversaries of the First and Second World Wars in Weston this August.

The British Philharmonic Concert Orchestra’s programme of music on Sunday, August 24, will encompass traditional songs, tunes, film, and classical music of war-time.

Conducted by Anthony Kraus, and led by Jeff Moore, the instrumentalists will be joined by star tenor Andrew Forbes Lane and soprano Gillene Butterfield.

The music will be interspaced with verse, readings and anecdotes. The concert starts at 7.30pm at the Playhouse Theatre.
