The History

Built probably around 1800 originally as farmhouse storage/staff accommodation it became a girls boarding school in 1918, with the telephone number 'North Curry no.3'. In 1937 it was the home of Cathleen Tacci-Morris & her RAF officer husband Anthony Stagg. During the War it was the 'Womens' Land Army' base and after Mrs Zelle's catering hire business. Cathleen's father was an inventor, adapting motorcycles with guns for the Army.
