A MAN was jumped and forced to hand over money by a gang of yobs in Bridgwater early this morning.
A 20-year-old man was making his way back from work at 3am along a footpath near Robert Blake Science College when he was approached by a group of people.
A police spokesman said: “He was approached from behind and forced to hand over money. The offenders then left the scene, believed to be in the direction of Hamp Avenue and Elmwood Avenue.
“Our investigations are ongoing.”
At this stage it is unclear how many people were in the group, but it has been described as a 'small number'.
Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have information on the assault or who may have seen a group of people acting suspiciously in the area before and after the time of the incident.
