AS the university summer break starts, TV Licensing is reminding parents in Bridgwater that students coming home for the holidays may be able to claim a refund of more than £30 on their TV Licence.

If your child is moving back home for the summer from halls of residence or shared digs and no longer needs their TV Licence, he/she may be entitled to cash back if there are three full calendar months before their licence expires.

If the TV licence was bought in October 2007 and isn't needed for July, August and September, he/she could claim a refund of £33.88.

We know that for many students, any extra cash is always welcome, so we are encouraging parents to give their children a nudge - one quick call to TV Licensing is all it takes to check their eligibility for this refund.

A TV Licence currently costs £139.50. Students with any questions about TV Licensing requirements or applying for a refund should visit www.tvlicensing.co.uk/students2008 or call 0844 800 6734.
