South West 1W
North Petherton 12, Bideford 13
NORTH Petherton scored more tries and enjoyed much more possession, yet allowed Bideford to snatch victory.
With the boost of player-coach Steve Pape back in the line-up following a long injury, Pethy began in positive style.
Even then, they failed to make the most of their first-half chances - 40 minutes they dominated - and went in at the break 5-5.
Making the most of their opportunities, Bideford scored their only try through Charlies Richards while Chris Snell kicked the vital conversion and two penalties.
Pethy, on the other hand, scored tries through Henry Gliddon and Damian Griffin, with Brogan Melrose kicking a conversion.
Pape said: "It's so frustrating - we had 90 per cent of the first half play but missed five or six good scoring opportunities."
On Saturday, North Petherton travel to strugglers Kingsbridge.
