THIRTY members of North Petherton-based Kingscliffe Short Mat Bowling Club took part in the club’s annual triples competition.
Split into two groups of five for the round-robin session, the winners and runners-up of each group progressed to the semi-finals.
Group A runners-up Liz Dixon, Ginny Hearn and Jack Baker lost their semi-final 10-8 to Phyllis Cunningham, Colin Gay and James Scoins (Group B winners), while Group B runners-up Merv Selway, Graham Wood and Barry Keirl won 7-5 against Group A winners Ivor Snook, Jan Evett and Keith Talintyre.
In the final, Cunningham, Gay and Scoins stormed 7-2 ahead at halfway, and they carried on to beat Selway, Wood and Keirl 12-6.
