South West Women’s Premier
Bridgwater Town Ladies 7, Weymouth Ladies 0
TOWN Ladies bounced back from last week’s cup defeat by overwhelming a depleted but spirited Weymouth team. They went ahead in the second minute, when Ami Ward touched home a Jess Chappell pass.
On 13 minutes they were awarded a penalty when Anneka Russ was tripped, and Vicky Tindall duly dispatched the resulting kick.Goal three came after 29 minutes when Anneka Russ put the ball away following a corner and the fourth came in the 35th minute when a defender put the ball into her own net from a Russ cross.Early in the second half, Devon Rich burst through and fired firmly past the keeper.
Town were playing some good football and were passing the ball around well and in the 70th minute Anusia Rourke struck a wonderful long range shot high into the net giving the Weymouth keeper no chance.
It was then 7-0 on 80 minutes, when Hannah Brown passed the ball out wide right to Ami Ward, who cut in, and hit a delightful dipping shot over the keeper into the far corner.Next week, the team are at home to Cheltenham Town Ladies at Fairfax Park, with a 2pm kick off.
