DIVISION One of the Taunton and District Saturday Football League saw Porlock maintain a one-point lead at the top of the table following a 1v0 victory over Predators thanks to a Tom McCarthey goal.

Middlezoy stay in touch with a 2v0 away win at Bishops Lydeard with goals from Lionel Crow and Dave Warren.

Alcombe Rovers, Staplegrove and Locomotives have all leapt up five places.

Staplegove went to champions Highbridge and found themselves one down from a Richard Cattell goal but Jake Quick equalised before Seth Reece made it 2v1 to Grove close to the end of the game.

Locomoitves had a 3v0 win at Bridgwater Sports, Luke Oliver got one and James Conway the other two.

In Division Two, North Petherton stay top despite dropping two home points with a 1v1 draw with Wyvern Rangers, goals from Craig Wright and Jamie Girton.

Nether Stowey emphatically closed the gap on Pethy to one point with a 7v0 win over Westonzoyland, Jake Brown got a pair and one goal coming from each of Lee Harvey, Jason Alexander, Chris Lynham, Gerald Noble and a Westonzoyland player who provided an own goal.

Division Three saw Wembdon Saints move to the top of the table after their 6v0 victory over Williton. Jason Hitchcock got a brace, Mike Hart scored from the penalty spot with Simon Turberfield, Rich Meek and Neil Barnett who was playing his first game having been out for a year.

Stogursey gave up top spot after losing their first game of the season to Middlezoy Rovers Reserves 1v0 - Sam Puddy getting the goal.

Norton Fitzwarren have closed the gap in third with a 5v2 home win over Highbridge Town Reserves. Paul Cook and Chris Lemarchand scored for Town.

The referee failed to turn up at Old Inn for their game with Redgate and all the players were grateful to Ben Carp, a Redgate player, who volunteered to take the whistle and is reported from both sides to have done a great job.

Redgate won the game 3v2 with Sam Granville, Jack Evett and Paul Chappell all scoring for them, Tom Brown and 16-year-old Aaron Cousins replying for Stars.

Sydenham Rangers travelled to Porlock but came away empty-handed losing 1v2. Steve Addicott scoring their goal with Adam Langdon and George Jackson netting for Porlock.

It was a close game at Bridgwater where their Colts and Wembdon couldn't break the deadlock in the first half. In the second period Craig Durrant put over a super cross for Simon Lukins to score and give Wemdon the lead only for Jason Jones to put Colts level but they conceded a penalty, which Dan Casson converted to give Dons the win 2v1.

In Division Four, Rhode Lane Wanderers beat Staplegrove Colts 6v3 in a nine-goal game. Dan Saunders hit a hat trick for Wanderers, Ashley Glover got a pair and Sean Roberts one, Martin Adams, Ian Taylor and Andy Malam replied for Grove.

Nether Stowey Reserves took all three points at Exmoor Rangers with a 3v2 win, Adam Cramp, Dave Trout and Lee Ridings netting all their goals, Jimmy Baker and Ryan Howse doing the same for Rangers.

And in Division Five, a pair of hat tricks from Jack Taylor and Jake Crocker gave Gallery a 6v0 home win over Wembdon Saints Reserves.

Bridgwater Grasshoppers lost 1v7 to North Petherton Reserves, Chris Harman getting their goal, Jason Mantyk got three for Pethy, James Wyatt two and one each from Sean Derrick and Gary Barnes.
