Somerset Junior Cup

Bridgwater Sports and Cannington Colts had to put off their encounter due to an unplayable pitch, but hope to meet each other on the pitch next week.

Rowbarton Charity Cup Quarter Final

Bishops Lydeard, having lost in the final of this competition last season, are determined to go one better and made sure of getting to the semi final with a 7v0 demolition of Wembdon Saints. Andrew Springer scored three, Jamie Welch, Andrew Clarke, Andy Middle and Martin Groody all added one each.

Division One

Porlock had a huge win over Nether Stowey winning 14 v 1 with eight different scorers - veteran Gary Bennett led the way with a hat trick, Richard Binding, Alan Langdon, Dave Sowden and Danny Wilson all scored two each. Matt Drakely, Adam Sparks and Tom McCarthey all scored one, Chris Lynham scored Stowey's consolation.

Division Two

Bridgwater Sports Reserves did not play but they remain top.

Watchet and Wembdon shared the points in a 3v3 draw. Damian Redman, Lewis Allen and Ben Saddington all scored for the home side with Dan Bingham, Brendan Pope and Ben Cheffey doing the same for Wembdon.

Staplegrove Reserves took the lead at Westonzoyland through Liam Leavy, but the home side equalised before Ashley O'Keefe restored Grove's lead with what everybody other than him thought was a cross. Westonzoyland continued to press forward and were rewarded for their efforts with two more goals to give them a 3v2 victory. The scorers were Adam Denyer, Nathan Barnard and Ryan Hobbs.

Division Three

Appletree remain top despite going down 0v3 at home to Highbridge Reserves. Fisher, Graham Furze and Chris Lemarchand all scored for Highbridge.

Division Four

Bishops Lydeard Colts have a three-point lead at the top of the table following their 4v1 home victory over North Petherton Reserves. Matt Harris, Gary Houghton and two from Dan Summers accounted for their goals, Daniel Perks notched up one for Pethy.

Just like North Petherton, Bridgwater Grasshoppers are still looking for that elusive first win. This week they went down 1v7 to Westonzoyland Reserves. Shane Thompson scored their only goal, Sam Weston and Jon Harriott both hit a pair for Westonzoyland, Dan Wilkes and Dan Saunders both got one each with Grasshoppers sticking in one at the wrong end.

Hamilton Hawks drew for the fourth time, this time 2v2 with Stogursey. Mike Clark and Rob Chambers scored for the home side as well as one of them scoring for Stogursey as did Alex Troman.

Porlock Reserves followed the example of their first team with a 5v1 victory over Rhode Lane Wanderers, a big win but not quite as comprehensive as their colleagues. Both Harry Scratchard and James Richards scored two each with Matt Knowles adding the fifth. Jason Mantyk scored for Wanderers.
