BRIDGWATER Town manager Craig Laird said his team are keeping their feet firmly on the ground despite another outstanding performance on Saturday, writes Laura Nesbitt.

It was the only league game to be played due to freezing conditions, and Bridgwater grabbed hold of the opportunity to notch up another three points away at Andover - they succeeded with a 0-3 scoreline.

Laird said: “It was a fully deserved win and I am very pleased with the result.

“If we keep winning games, we will have a greater opportunity to reach the promotion, but we are looking at each game as it comes, keeping our heads down and taking them one at a time.

“No one else played on Saturday, so it was a good opportunity for us to make the most of the match as we were a few games behind.”

Bridgwater have only lost two games this season and have not conceded a goal in the last six or seven games.

As 2010 approaches, Bridgwater are a fit team, sporting no injuries have good morale and are in with a chance of promotion - but there is not rest for them yet.

Laird added: “Things are going well, but we have to have our feet firmly planted on the ground and stay focussed to get where we want.”

Bridgwater Town face Paulton Rovers away on Saturday, then will be picking the pace up again at a home game against Taunton Town on New Year's Day.
