Enmore Park Golf Club Royals hosted the County Cricketers Golf Society on Thursday, who, led by their national captain, Guy McDonnell, put up a resolute performance as they sought to retain the Jerry Lloyds Trophy.
Mike Rossiter and Rob Chilcott won Enmore's first game, while Ben Filler and Steve Jones halved their match against Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Ian Blackwell.
Former Somerset favourites Max Waller and Peter Bowler won the third match before Jason Kerr and Graham Rose took the Cricketers into the lead after match four.
However, Enmore club captain Rhys Morgan and Phil Hodge saved the host's blushes in the last game, so the overall result was a draw. In time-honoured Ashes cricket traditions, the County Cricketers retained the trophy as holders.
