A FORMER Bristol Rovers and Southampton FC academy coach has joined the backroom team at Bridgwater United as assistant manager.
Nick de-Long, who has also worked as the head of football at the Armed Forces, will work under manager Andy Llewellyn.
Nick, who holds a UEFA A coaching licence, said: “I'm delighted to come in and support Andy as his assistant for the 24/25 season.
“Having had a number of meetings at the club it's clear that there is an intent to be successful and, with hard work and a team of people on and off the pitch all coming together for the greater good, we can definitely build upon previous season's positive efforts.
“I'm looking forward to meeting the supporters and ensuring they know we will do our very best for them on the pitch so we can get the place rocking by playing in a way that reflects the industrial nature of the town.
“Running hard, fighting for the badge and maximising the qualities of our young group to help us achieve our collective aims.”
Bridgwater United's season gets under way on Saturday, July 27 with a trip to Ivybridge.
The Robins will welcome Ilfracombe as the first visitors to Fairfax Park on Tuesday, July 30.
