Women's FA Cup: AFC Bournemouth 5-0 Bridgwater United

BRIDGWATER United Women have been knocked out of the Women's FA Cup after a heavy defeat against AFC Bournemouth on Sunday (November 12).

In the First Round Proper match, Bournemouth came out on top by five goals to nil as Bridgwater were struggling to get a foothold in the tie.

In really difficult conditions both sides found the early exchanges challenging and the scores remained locked at 0-0 until 25 minutes in.

Bournemouth found a way through the Bridgwater back line and before long had a second.

It was 2-0 at the break in favour of the hosts thanks to goals from Maisy Smith and Helen Bleazard.

In the second period it was more of the same from Bournemouth as they piled the pressure on and would run in three more goals.

Lucy Cooper, Gemma Hillier and Katie James all getting on the score sheet for the home side.

Bridgwater United now have a break from league action until December 3 when they face Keynsham Town at home.
