Vitality Women's FA Cup: Bridgwater United 3-0 Forest Green Rovers
BRIDGWATER United Women have progressed to the First Round Proper of the Vitality Women's FA Cup after a convincing win at the weekend.
On Sunday, October 22, Bridgwater defeated Forest Green Rovers Ladies 3-0 at Fairfax Park to secure their place in the first round.
It was a very strong showing from Bridgwater who improved greatly from their previous outing which saw defeat against Torquay.
There were no goals in the first half however the home side kept possession well and were restricting Forest Green to half chances at best.
Going into the second half it was all still to play for but Bridgwater felt they were on top. It didn't take long for that to show on the scoreline.
Halle Arnold found space in the box to unleash a shot into the corner of the net to send the hosts one goal in front.
From there, Ellie Bishop and Bethany Everson both scored fine goals to ram home Bridgwater's advantage and seal a convincing win.
Up next, Bridgwater return to league action on Sunday, October 29 away from home against Moneyfields.
