Division One South West: AFC Bournemouth 3-1 Bridgwater United
BRIDGWATER United Women were on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat at the weekend away against AFC Bournemouth Ladies.
The match was Bridgwater's second of the season in the FA Women's National League Division One South West.
And it was their second defeat of the season, leaving them in 11th place.
It was a tough result to take but importantly there were more positives for the Robins and they will look to continue improving going forward.
In the match, Bridgwater started lively and created some early chances but were unable to turn those into a goal.
In the 28th minute, the hosts took the lead and held on to it until half time to go in 1-0 up at the break.
62 minutes in and the home side doubled the lead after some scrappy defending from Bridgwater let the play open up.
In the 85th minute Bridgwater were awarded a penalty and Chloe Snook stepped up to calmly slot it home to make it 2-1.
However right at the death the hosts made it 3-1 with almost the last kick of the game.
Up next for Bridgwater United is a home match on Sunday, September 10 against Portishead Town.
