Butleigh CC - 1st XI 82 / All out (28.4) lost to North Petherton CC 1st XI 159 / All out (39.3)
NORTH Petherton CC earned a 75-run victory away from home at the weekend over Butleigh CC.
The victory takes North Petherton to sixth place in the WEPL Somerset division.
After winning the toss, Butleigh chose to field first and the North Petherton batters set the target of 159 before they were all out in the 40th over.
Jason Gunter top scored with 55 runs while Owen Irish added an important 36 runs in the middle order.
In reply, Butleigh were given a revised target of 158 from 50.0 overs due to a small rain delay.
They struggled to deal with the visiting teams bowlers as they were dismissed for 82 runs in the 29th over.
Mondli Khumalo finished with four wickets for 21 runs in his spell to have the best bowling figures.
Up next for North Petherton is a home match on Saturday, August 19 against North Perrott CC.
