BRIDGWATER United Women have continued their pre-season campaign with an impressive win over Cardiff Met University on Sunday.
In the match, played in Cardiff, Bridgwater were dominant and earned a 6-2 win.
In pre-season, the Robins have enjoyed mixed results but aside from the scoreline, the squad has gelled together and performances have improved over the course.
That was very much clear to see in this match against Cardiff Met.
Speaking on pre-season, manager Grant Fisher said the score lines are not so important, moreso the fitness and tactical awareness.
"The score lines are highly irrelevant especially in a pre-season game but it is without doubt always nice to get a win," he said.
"The players got a good workout and from now it will get tougher again with another fixture ahead of the upcoming season."
Fisher also added that he and his side enjoy playing at home due to the positive atmosphere in the crowd.
"Thanks must go to our home fans who truly bring a positive atmosphere into Fairfax Park and I hope they continue to support us because it most definitely feeds onto the pitch and we all appreciate it immensely."
In other news at the club, all the players for the upcoming campaign will be fitted out with some top of the line technology.
PlayerData has come on board to provide the players with performance based data from training and matches.
A spokesperson from the club said: "Welcome to PlayerData, an important addition to Bridgwater United Women's Performance Pathway.
"PlayerData gives coaches and players vital information on performance and data of which is invaluable to leading to gaining percentages that we didn't have previously.
"PlayerData and Fraser Campbell specifically were brilliant throughout the process and were incredibly helpful and quick in providing the service to our club so a big thank you to them and a company we would highly recommend to any other club."
Grant Fisher added: "I want to thank Adam Murry for making this happen for us and ensuring Bridgwater United Women keep progressing both on and off the pitch.
"Investing in the players is massively important to our club and giving them the best opportunity to achieve and fulfill potential."
Bridgwater United kick off their league campaign at home on Sunday, August 20 when they host Exeter City Women.
