SOMERSET'S newest signing Sean Dickson has shared his thoughts on joining the club.

The top order batsman joins from Durham CCC and will look to bolster Somerset's batting lineup.

He told Somerset CCC: "I came to Taunton due to my family, I enjoyed the North East but my family live down South.

"But also it was a great opportunity to come and play at a good club in Division One of the County Championship."

The South African added that he is looking forward to playing at Taunton.

"It is going to be a nice time, I am really looking forward to playing at Taunton and hopefully I can help Somerset to some big victories.

"My batting style is quite technical and straight lined. I can be described as simple but I think that is key to keep it simple."

His goals for the season: "It would be lovely to bring home the County Championship and enjoy that success as a team.

"On a personal level I just want to enjoy my cricket and get some big scores. Some silverware on top would make that even better."
