THE Men's first team from Bridgwater & Taunton College have marched on in to the last 16 of the Association of Colleges (AoC) Men’s Premier Cup with an emphatic 5-2 win over Exeter College.

On the day, the team produced an excellent display of football away from home against Exeter College.

Up against tough opponents, who had beaten them 5-1 earlier in the season and sit 2nd place in the table with only one defeat it was going to be a tough challenge but the BTC boys were up for it.

BTC got off to a flying start as Acey Mead opened the scoring after a brilliant piece of skill and an even better pass from Olly Chubb.

Brad Pfupa then got on the end of a Harry Durant through-ball volleyed home into the bottom corner to send Team BTC up 2-0 within the opening five minutes.

Acey then got his second of the game and BTC’s third with another well worked goal before Exeter mounted a comeback before the break.

Exeter replied instantly which temporarily shifted momentu, however, on the stroke of half time, Acey completed his hat-trick to make the score 4-1 at the break with Team BTC firmly in the driving seat and good value for their lead.

In the second half, the team maintained their intensity and work rate as Lewis Neenan got on the end of a superb cross from Acey Mead and finished beautifully to score BTC’s fifth goal and put the game out of sight.

Exeter did pull one goal back but the final score ended as Team BTC 5-2 Exeter College.

The Men’s 1 football team now progress through to the last 16 of the AoC Men’s Premier Cup.
