BRIDGWATER United Women have advanced into the second round proper of the Women's FA Cup after a convincing 0-4 away win against Milton Town on the weekend.

In the game, defender Amy Goddard scored two goals, helping her side to the convincing win, she said a cup run would be good for Bridgwater.

"We played well and were clinical in parts, however we feel like we could have scored more goals."

"My two goals bothcame from corners, I got myself in the right position to head home which was good, I was very happy to get two," Goddard said.

Also on the scoresheet was Laura Holden and Jenna Markham.

The squad was quite different from the previous league game, as manager Jamie Harris made quite a few changes.

Ellie Strippel was rested and named on the bench whilst Hinchcliffe and Greenway made their way into the starting lineup.

Jenna Markham and Jasmine Read were back in the squad and both Wilson-White and Kendell were named on the bench for the very first time.

Amy Goddard said it was good to see so many of our youth players getting FA Cup experience and the team want to go far in the cup.

"It is a good sign of our squad depth when you see how many youth players in the side and all playing well."

"It gives them and us as a squad good experience and we want to progress further in the cup to challenge ourselves," Goddard said.

In the next round Bridgwater have been drawn against Chichester & Selsey away from home; a side who Bridgwater beat 3-0 earlier in the season.

"We want and believe we can beat Chichester but we know it will be a tough game."

"It would be good for the club to have a good cup run and our goal is to go as far as we can," Goddard said.
