BRIDGWATER begin their pre-season campaign this afternoon, as Cardiff-based Taffs Well come to town for a 3pm kick-off at Fairfax Park.

The match was previously arranged as a behind-closed-doors friendly at Bridgwater & Taunton College at 2pm, but it has been pushed back an hour and the venue moved so that fans can attend.

The Robins follow that with a trip to Bideford next Tuesday (July 13, 7.30pm), before a home match with National League outfit Weymouth on Saturday, July 17.

Going into those matches, Bridgwater manager Dave Pearse has been boosted by the news that defenders Tom Ellis and Jordan Greenwood, midfielders Ryan Brereton and Mike Duffy, and striker Sam Crumb have all agreed terms to stay with the club for another season.

They will be joined in the squad by midfielder Harry Horton, who returns to Fairfax Park after playing for Middlezoy and Cheddar last season.

Two more new signings have also been announced, with former Ashton & Backwell United defender Jacob Spence and former Clevedon Town forward George King coming on board.
