THE home of Somerset County Cricket Club will continue to bear the name of Cooper Associates for another five years.

The club has renewed its partnership with the mortgage broker and financial consultancy firm, which sees the Taunton venue remain as the Cooper Associates County Ground for the next five years.

Cooper Associates became the club’s ground naming rights partner in 2016, and this renewal is - according to Somerset - "the biggest single deal ever concluded by the club - and it will help support our ambitious plans both on and off the field".

Following the renewal of the partnership, Somerset commercial director Caroline Herbert said: “Cooper Associates play an important role within the local community and have a long history of supporting charities and championing both sport in the region and local sporting stars such as Jos Buttler, Jack Leach and Tom Banton.

“The last five years were only the start of our commercial partnership and I am looking forward to working together to realise our ambitious goals.”

Neil Wyatt, marketing director at Cooper Associates, said: “We are devoted cricket fans and are delighted our increased level of sponsorship will contribute to the long-term success of Somerset, both on and off the pitch.

“It’s been a long time since we have all been able to watch the team in action.

“We can’t wait to see the ground full with members and supporters cheering the team on again.”
