WELLINGTON goalkeeper Chandler Hallett, who also had a loan spell at Taunton Town in the 2018/19 season, has had a health scare.

Hallett tweeted: “So after I collapsed twice yesterday, I went for tests at doctors and my ECG came back as abnormal.

“I was then admitted to Musgrove for more tests on my heart!

“After lots of tests, those have come back as something is abnormal.

“I have now been sent home.

“I’ve got to go back and get a heart monitoring machine measured up, have some more scans, then see the heart specialist... then hopefully we’ll know what’s going on!

“Thanks for the messages and support.”

Wellington AFC 1, Cribbs 2

LATE goals have cost Wellington dear in the last week.

The Tangerines suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to high-flying Tavistock last Wednesday - Jack Crago scoring the only goal of the game in the 88th minute - and it was a similar story against in-form Cribbs on Saturday.

The Bristol-based visitors had won four in a row going into the game, and they broke the deadlock with a goal four minutes before half-time.

A free-kick into the box found Ross McErlain, who rose to head home.

Wellington drew level just after the hour, as Jesse Howe collected the ball 25 yards out, strode forward and scored with a low drive.

Former Bridgwater Town, Street and Taunton Town player Steve Murray made the difference for Cribbs, however, after being introduced from the bench.

With just four minutes left, he found space in the box and beat keeper Tom Welch with a deflected effort.

Wellington: Tom Welch, Josh Champion, Tom Davies, Jason Quick, Jack Lewis, Scott Merritt, Mason Raymond, Glen Wright, Miles Quick, George Sinnott, Jesse Howe. Subs (used): Jamie Vaughan-Ryall, Jack Bown-Porter. Attendance: 75.

Wellington make the trip to Exmouth Town on Saturday (3pm), before hosting Bridgwater in a rearranged fixture next Wednesday (7.45pm).

The original game had to be abandoned due to floodlight failure at the Playing Field.
