TAUNTON & Pickeridge Golf Club's juniors are into the Somerset Junior League KO final, after beating their Worlebury counterparts in the semi-finals.

Junior captain Charlie Hooper beat Troy Young 3&1, Olly Tripp defeated Theo Lamey 5&4, and Benjamin Newman overcame Tyler Reeves 3up.

T&P juniors now meet Oake Manor juniors in the final, to be played at Weston-super-Mare Golf Club tomorrow, October 25.

Elsewhere at T&P this week, more than 120 golfers played in the Newton Cup competition.

This was played as a Waltzing Bowmaker in teams of three; the best stableford points score counted on the first hole, then two scores on the second hole, and all three scores on the third hole, before the 1-2-3 sequence was repeated over the 18 holes.

Two teams tied on 83 points, but after countback it was Pete Richards, Georgia Richards and Marion Mittermaier who won the Newton Cup, pipping Darryl Pengelly, Michael Bird and Peter Horton.

On Tuesday the Ladies played an 18-hole Stableford, at the end of which the winner in the Silver Division was Katie Guest with 35 points, ahead of Georgia Richards (34).

Emma Smith won the Bronze Division with 35 points, beating Jan Hill (31) into second.
