BRIDGWATER & Albion and North Petherton are both on home turf tomorrow, looking to build on encouraging results in South West 1 West last weekend.

Albion ground out a 19-17 win away to Crediton, putting them fifth in the table going into tomorrow's match with second-placed Devonport Services at College Way (3pm).

After the win over Crediton, Albion director of rugby Geoff Sluman said: "We spoke post-match and said it was a long way from a perfect performance, so the squad are putting pressure on themselves to improve in the areas where we know we can do better.”

He added: "We lost when we played away against Services earlier in the season.

"We were not really competitive in that match so we are challenging ourselves to do [tomorrow].”

Ahead of tomorrow’s match, Brian Foxwell is hosting a lunch in the clubhouse at 12.30pm; all former players are invited to attend.

North Petherton, meanwhile, were 30-10 winners over Keynsham last weekend, an away victory which sees them in seventh spot.

They welcome fourth-placed Lydney to Beggars Brook, and team manager Andrew Ford said: “We changed the coaching set-up last summer and brought in a few new players, and it has taken us a bit of time to work out a style of play.

“Things are starting to click. We have developed a good kicking game and some key players are coming back."

He added: “We are seventh but only 10 points off the top - that’s potentially two wins.

“We traditionally have hard, physical battles against Lydney and we want to right some wrongs from the away game [which Lydney won 30-17].”
