TAUNTON Town head of football Rob Dray has hailed Zac Smith after the Bristol City loanee's latest impressive performance for the Peacocks.

Midfielder Smith picked up the man of the match award at Dorchester on Tuesday night, continuing his fine run of form since he signed for Dray's side in August.

“I have never seen an 18-year-old quite like him,” Dray said.

“He is such a humble lad and has really immersed himself into our squad.

"There are no airs and graces, no 'big I am', you wouldn’t know he was a Bristol City player from the way he conducts himself around us.

“He is loving being a part of it and we are loving having him here.

“Watch out for his name in the next two years - he is a very special player.”

Smith has a chance to impress against higher division opponents this weekend, with Taunton facing a trip to Havant & Waterlooville in the FA Cup second qualifying round.
