SOMERSET are looking to bounce back from their first defeat of the season as they face Middlesex at Radlett CC on Wednesday.

Hampshire's win over Surrey today (Tuesday) has knocked Somerset off the top of the South Group, while the hosts sit fifth after three wins and two defeats from their opening five matches.

Somerset have named a 13-man squad for the fixture, with Dom Bess included but not Jack Leach.

Tom Banton, meanwhile, will have fond recent memories of the venue having scored 150 in Somerset's Second XI Trophy victory over a strong Middlesex side at Radlett earlier this month.

Somerset squad: Tom Abell (c), Azhar Ali, Tom Banton, George Bartlett, Dom Bess, Jack Brooks, Josh Davey, Lewis Gregory, Tim Groenewald, James Hildreth, Craig Overton, Peter Trego and Roelof van der Merwe.

Middlesex are without four first-team regulars due to Ireland v England ODI on Friday. Paul Stirling and Tim Murtagh are in the Ireland squad, with Eoin Morgan captaining an England squad containing Dawid Malan.

Steven Finn also misses out through injury.

Middlesex squad: Stephen Eskinazi (Captain), Ethan Bamber, Nick Gubbins, James Harris, Tom Helm, Max Holden, Ollie Rayner, Sam Robson, Toby Roland-Jones, George Scott, John Simpson (wicket-keeper), Nathan Sowter, Ross Taylor

Somerset won last season's South Group match between the two sides by 53 runs at Taunton.

A similar result tomorrow would put Somerset one step further to qualifying for the knock-out stages of the competition.
