A DEAL to bring Jos Buttler back to Somerset could be completed before the end of the season, it has been reported.
ESPN's George Dobell wrote that Buttler is tempted by a move back to Taunton from Lancashire, where his contract runs out at the end of the current campaign.
The Taunton-born England star left Somerset at the end of 2013, as wicketkeeping opportunities were limited by Craig Kieswetter being the first choice pick.
Buttler has family in the area and has several good friends at Somerset, most notably his fellow England international Jack Leach.
Due to his England commitments, Buttler has only played 16 First Class games in five seasons at Lancashire, but the return of a local favourite would certainly please a lot of Somerset supporters.
Buttler is currently in action for Rajasthan Royals in the Indian Premier League, striking 89 (off 43 balls) in their four-wicket win over Mumbai Indians yesterday.
