A LEGEND of the Taunton cricketing scene has gone viral after his efforts in brightening up a rainy one-day international between England and the West Indies in Grenada.
Martin Baldock, known as 'Dusty' by his clubmates at Taunton St Andrew's CC, was caught on camera singing Neil Diamond's crowd favourite Sweet Caroline as supporters from both sides waited for rain to go away.
Unfortunately conditions did not clear up and the match was abandoned, but Baldock's dulcet tones proved the highlight of the day.
Baldock remains a regular wicket taker for Taunton St Andrew's A in the Somerset Cricket League and is also well known as a football referee.
It is fair to say his efforts have not gone unnoticed on social media - England Cricket's official video has been viewed more than 73,000 times and his teammates have launched a campaign to get Baldock warming up the Somerset crowds before T20 matches.
