LOCAL punters have a feast of racing action to look forward to at Taunton this afternoon where 90 runners have been declared necessitating an extra race, meaning the seven race card now gets underway at 12.35pm.

The going of good to soft in places has attracted runners from all the leading trainers including Colin Tizzard, Paul Nicholls, Alan King, Phillip Hobbs, David Pipe, Dan Skelton and Harry Fry, while top jockeys Sam Twiston-Davies, Wayne Hutchinson, Paddy Brennan, Nick Schofield and Bryony Frost are all booked to ride.

The big race is the Elizabeth Chatfield 40th Birthday Handicap Chase (Class 3) at 3.15pm.

The fancied horses look to be Capeland, from the Nicholls yard, ridden by Harry Cobden, and Lillington, trained by Tizzard, under 10-pound claimer Angus Cheleda.

Amoola Gold, from the Skelton stable, under Bridget Andrews, is likely to offer better value and is worth a look.
