BISHOPS Lydeard Ladies were left without a match due to the weather for the second weekend in a row.

Their home game with Downend Flyers was postponed, and Lydeard are now due to go to Exeter City Ladies this Sunday (ko 2pm).

Bishops Lydeard Reserves’ Somerset Women’s League Division 1 match away to Burnham United Ladies did survive, however.

There was not much in it at half time, Lydeard leading 2-1, but the visitors added three more in the second half to ease to a 5-1 victory.

Sophie Lewis, Nicola Brown, Amber Guy-Kemp, Ellen Broadway and debutant Holly Newstead all scored for third-placed Lydeard, with Vanessa Brill replying.

Lydeard Reserves are now without a match until January, but Ash Rangers Ladies are in action this Sunday, at Pen Mill Reserves (ko 2pm).

Alish Lehmann (2), Julia Simic (2) and Brianna Visalli all scored for the visitors, with young Somerset talents Erin Bloomfield and Emily Syme unable to help Yeovil get back into the match.

There was better news for Yeovil this week, with goalkeeper Megan Walsh having been voted as November’s PFA fans’ player of the month.

Tonight (ko 7.45pm) sees Yeovil play their final match of 2018, at home to Brighton & Hove Albion in the Continental Cup.
