THERE is derby action at College Way tonight as the 2nd XV's of Bridgwater & Albion and North Petherton go head to head (7.30pm) in Somerset 1.

Pethy claimed the bragging rights when the first teams locked horns a fortnight ago and their second string will be confident of backing that up - they sit fourth in the division, with Albion third from bottom.

Both clubs' first XV's are in action on Saturday, with Albion looking to bounce back from last weekend's heavy home defeat as they travel to Cornwall to face St Ives.

A second half collapse saw Albion beaten 61-16 - having been 16-0 up at half-time - at home to Okehampton last time out, and their opponents this weekend sit one point and one place above Albion in the table.

Director of rugby Geoff Sluman said: "They are a side we have not played for many years so we know very little about them.

"They are now one league place above us and we have a long journey, so we have to get our preparation right."

North Petherton are now just two places behind Albion and could leapfrog their neighbours if they win at home to second-bottom Cullompton and Albion slip up in Cornwall.

In Somerset 2 South, Morganians host Minehead Barbarians 2nds.
