THE battle at the top of Division 1 of the Uxella Bridgwater & District Sunday League rages on, Ramblers taking back top spot on goal difference after hammering hosts Highburn Athletic 10-2.

Rivals West Bower kept up the pace, though, by winning 2-1 at home to Rhode Lane Wanderers, thanks to Tom Merritt’s brace.

Scott Capel netted for Wanderers, who had both Terry Mason and Jamie Moxey sent off.

Huntspill Crowns are in third place, following their 6-4 victory over Red Road Rangers.

Curtis Bradshaw hit four for the hosts, who also had Mike Stevens and Harvey Barnshaw on target.

Spaxton Rangers leapfrogged Spaxton Stags in mid-table after a 5-2 win, Jack Reed scoring four and Michael Watts the other.

Division 2 leaders North Petherton won handsomely at Pawlett Rebels, 9-0, as Scott Harman also claimed a four-goal haul.

James Smith (2), Jack Winter (2) and Lewis Jordan were also on the scoresheet.

Second-placed New Foresters beat Huntspill Crowns BPH 4-2, while Woolavington edged out Puriton 3-2.

TIGER Old Boys have hit form in Division 1 of the Keyline Taunton Sunday League, with an 8-1 win over Old Inn at the weekend.

New boy Jon Harriott and the ever-reliable Carl Jones scored a hat-trick apiece, with the other goals coming from Brendon Pope and Chris Taylor.

Steve Scorse replied for Old Inn, but undoubtedly Tigers are starting to look like their old selves, with new players settling in well.

This coming Sunday they are away to Cutters Friday in the quarter-finals of the County Cup.

TWO Millards combined as Westonzoyland kept the pressure on at the top of Division 1 of the Invest SouthWest Taunton Saturday League.

Jack Millard scored a brace and James Millard netted the other in the routine 3-0 home win over Porlock.

Westonzoyland are second on goal difference behind Bishops Lydeard Reserves, who thumped Morganians 5-0.

North Curry made the most of Stogursey not playing to stretch their lead at the top of Division 2 to six points with a 7-0 win over Middlezoy Rovers Athletic.

Wembdon Reserves moved four points clear at the top of Division 3 thanks to a 6-3 win at FC Castlemoat Reserves.

Aaron Blackburn led the way with a brace, while Nathan Chillingworth, Craig Durant, Thomas Lealand and Timothy Richards scored one apiece.

Ryan Harris scored a hat-trick for Morganians Reserves as they picked up a convincing 7-1 win at Norton Fitzwarren Reserves.

Jake Cutter (2), Dayle Waite and Gage Taylor rounded off the scoring.

Wyvern United sit third after a 4-0 victory at struggling North Petherton Reserves, the goals coming from Lloyd Alley (2), Joseph Godfrey and Josh Martin.

Bridgwater Sports came out on top in the mid-table clash against Minehead Colts, winning 3-1.
