ENMORE Park maintained their vice-like grip on the Rob Ford Cup, winning the Avalon Seniors title for the third year running thanks to an emphatic 4.5-0.5 victory against Worlebury.

The competition runs throughout the season and is contested by 12 of Somerset's clubs.

With Long Sutton hosting the final, it was another bright autumn day when Neil Whisler & Martyn Clapp led the way, winning 5 & 4 against Steve Taylor & Steve Rowlands.

This was quickly followed by Paddy Maclennan & Rob Fear having the same margin in their game against Robbie McMillen & Stuart Lock.

Team captain Mike Rossiter & Martyn Westbury enjoyed a comfortable 3 & 2 victory against Keri Allchurch & John Ratajczak, while Phil Hodge & Wayne Hawley closed out a win on the 15th green against Dave Treleaven & Danny O'Connor.

In the remaining game, Keith Miller & Jeff Saunders were evenly matched with Paul McAdams & Tony Westren and an honourable half was agreed.

Ahead of the final, Enmore had said they didn't want anyone else's fingerprints on 'their' cup, and so Worlebury's match captain Keri Allchurch donned white gloves to present the cup to Mike Rossiter.
