BRIDGWATER Town boss Dave Pearse is urging his side to become more consistent as they prepare to welcome Bridport on Sunday.

The match, which begins at 11am, will be watched by a bumper crowd as part of the Western League Groundhop weekend - click here to read an interview with the organiser and to see the full schedule.

Town lost their grip on top spot after a 1-0 defeat at Clevedon Town last time out and player-manager Pearse is expecting another tough assignment this weekend.

"Bridport will be strong," he said.

"They will be solid and well organised and we will have to play well to break them down.

"Last week was frustrating so we have to play with the energy we had the week before [a 6-2 win over Bradford Town] and start taking the chances we make.

"It will be nice having a bigger crowd in and hopefully they'll see a good game."

Pearse will not be featuring on the pitch after a red card last time out, but he is hoping to welcome back Mike Duffy.

"Mike gives us that energy in the middle of the park which I feel we were lacking a bit last week," he said.

"Ian Bellinger is also back, so we have a strong squad to pick from."

Elsewhere this weekend, Middlezoy Rovers host Shirehampton in the Somerset County League Premier Division.

Bridgwater Town Reserves, whose match with Saltford was abandoned last weekend after a flurry of red cards with the score at 1-1, are in Somerset Senior Cup action at Wellington.
