Bridgwater Jupiter 41, Titans 62

JUPITER started well, with excellent play by Holly Filkins, Alisha Gardener and Julie McClean (13-11).

Kia Jenner and Maddie Kennard made goals look effortless, but Titans gained the lead (21-30).

Emily Bridges and Eve Jenner worked tirelessly but couldn’t claw it back.

Saturn 38, Wyndham 34

EXCELLENT centre court play by Emma Reynolds and Amy Portlock saw Saturn lead 11-7 early on.

Fantastic play from shooters Katy Cheese and Becky Hooper ensured Saturn were 21-12 up at half time.

Ellie Scofield and Aiste Mockeliunaite, along with well-timed interceptions by Lisa Lukins and Abbie Newton, ensured that Saturn held out for the win.

Neptune 31, Robins 36

TIGHT marking saw the first quarter end 8-5 to Robins; the second quarter was very even and Robins only increased their lead by one.

Excellent defensive play by Emily Harwood and Sally Haysham, plus outstanding movement by Katie Harris and Izzy Innalls, saw Neptune claw it back, but Robins held on.

Venus 24, Aldon 34

VENUS had a slow start, which was steadily overcome in the second quarter as Alicia Clapp, Hazel Hucker, Beth Hayes and Chris Shaw worked well.

Venus started to make inroads into Aldon’s lead, with strong defence from Ashlea Slater, Jazz Alexander and captain Tiff Brice.

Venus won the final two quarters, with crisp passing and fine movement.

Mars 42, Summerhouse 29

NEAT passing by Jess Chee, Sophie Atyeo and Anna Belcher kept the ball heading into the circle, where Izzy Keane and Becky Kennard were on form.

Defenders Ella Smith and Emily Smith worked hard to secure the win.

Luna 38, Kingfishers 39

LUNA began well, as Kate Atyeo and Kate Wells linked up with Sarah Keane.

Kingfishers pulled ahead by one goal and Luna missed a last-minute penalty shot to tie the match.

Lovall Titans 41, Sydenham Gems 31

SYDENHAM Gems travelled to Newton Abbot to face Lovall Titans.

Gems started slowly, losing the first quarter, but dug deep and fought back to draw the second.

Great defensive pressure and a skilled attack led Gems to win the third.

Gems worked really hard throughout, but the final score was 41-31 to Titans.

Somerset Premier Division
Newton 45, Sapphires 60

NEWLY-PROMOTED Sapphires enjoyed their first win of the season against a strong Newton from Yeovil.

Sapphires started the game well and went goal for goal with Newton through the first quarter.

In the second quarter, Sapphires’ Susan Bushnell and Rheanne Lee made great interceptions and they took the lead.

Centre court players Mikki Hole, Carly Martin and Kerry Clark hassled their opponents and prevented Newton getting back into it.

Sapphires fought until the end, with great shooting from Tilly Milburn and Nicola Hale.

Hendford 52, Rubies 25

RUBIES took a while to settle into the game and Hendford ended the first quarter 19-5 up.

The second quarter saw Rubies turn over ball with good defence from Laura Coombes and Katie Issitt, allowing the centre court players to feed shooters Steph Gibson and Michelle Jenkins but, with strong defence from Hendford, this proved difficult.

The third quarter saw some changes in attack, but Hendford still applied pressure to Rubies.

The visitors tried to claw back the deficit and claim half a point, but silly mistakes prevented this.

Reckleford 50, Emeralds 17

THE first quarter kicked off with strong defence from Emeralds, but Reckleford managed to build a 12-2 lead.

Emeralds fought back throughout the second and third quarters with some excellent shooting from Rhiannon Crabtree and Jessie Venning, and cracking interceptions from Charlie Webb.

The final score was 50-17 to Reckleford as Emeralds could not close the gap.
