Hallen 1, Bridgwater Town 2

TWO goals in the last five minutes from Jake Brown and Charlie White stunned hosts Hallen and handed Bridgwater Town all three points on Tuesday night.

The Robins made a bright start, with Jack Taylor shooting straight at goalkeeper Liam Macfarlane, and Jake Llewellyn and Sam Towler's efforts drifting off target.

The game then hit a bit of a lull, until a good move from the visitors five minutes before half time saw Mike Duffy find Brown, whose cut-back was met by Towler, only for his shot to be well saved.

That meant the teams went in for half time goalless, and that's how it stayed when Brown - clean through on goal - was denied by Macfarlane.

The hosts then took control, showing greater energy and finally putting the Bridgwater defence under pressure.

And they got the goal they deserved on 66 minutes, as a cross in from the right was smashed home by Matty Davis.

Hallen then had their chances to put the game to bed, but were made to pay for their profligacy by a Robins equaliser in the 87th minute.

Tom Ellis' long throw proved a potent weapon for Bridgwater, as it had last Saturday, as the home side struggled to clear and the ball fell for Brown to volley into the corner.

Just two minutes later it was 2-1, as left-back Kurt Robinson sent in a low cross and substitute White managed to turn it in at the back post.

The result sees the Robins sit in fifth place in the embryonic Premier Division table, ahead of a meeting with Brislington at Fairfax Park on Saturday (ko 3pm).
