THE ‘Paul Coleman Plumbing & Heating’-sponsored annual Bridgwater Skittles Pairs knockout competition semi-final and final rounds have taken place at the Blake Arms, Bridgwater.

The semi-final started well for Ryan and Steve Cresswell as Ryan began the match with a 12.

In the second hand, Scott Sealey hit a 16 to put himself and Paul Nicholls into the early lead, then Paul added a 14 in the third hand.

The first flopper of the evening also came in the third hand and was hit by Dave Woods’ partner Jerry West.

A 15 for Jason Clapp and a second 14 for Paul was hit during the fifth hand before Dave Wood joined his partner with the second flopper of the evening in the sixth hand.

An 11 in the last hand of the match for the partnership of Dave Wood and Jerry West meant they had to settle for fourth place in the match.

Third place honours went to Jason Clapp and Stuart Woodley which left Scott and Paul, and Steve and Ryan to play in the final match.

In the final, the early lead went to Ryan and Steve following a 17 from Steve in the second hand, but Scott hit a 13 to keep him and Paul in touch.

A flopper 18 in the last hand of the final saw Ryan and Steve Cresswell lift the winners trophy, while Scott and Paul had to settle for runners-up.

The league committee would like to thank Paul Coleman and Andreas for their continued support of this competition.
