BRIDGWATER Town are set to rack up more miles this weekend as they head to Farnham Town in the FA Vase second round.

The trip to Surrey follows earlier visits to Gosport Borough, St Austell and Bashley in various competitions, and co-manager Dave Pearse is confident they can continue their recent upturn in fortunes which has seen them win their last three league games in succession.

Looking ahead to the tie, he said: “We have to be confident going up there with the run we are on.

“In July, if you had offered me this squad and where we are in the table, I would have bitten your hand off.

“Our quality is starting to shine through and we need to keep this run going.

“Farnham are an unknown quantity, and their league position is a false one as they are near the bottom but are currently on a good unbeaten run across all competitions.

“We are always grateful for the support we get on these trips - on Saturday [at Cribbs] all you could hear were our fans - and hopefully we can keep rewarding them.”

A supporters coach is running to Farnham on Saturday - seats can be booked by contacting Bob Buckingham on 07966 386091. The coach will leave the club at 10am at a cost of £10.

Middlezoy Rovers are also in cup action, hosting Broad Plain House in the Somerset County League Premier/Division One Cup.

Zoy's opponents are mid-table in Division One East, so the hosts will be confident of progressing.

In the same competition, Bridgwater Town Reserves host Purnell Sports.
