RICH Fey described his side’s 1-0 defeat at Sholing as ‘a hard pill to swallow’ after a late goal denied Bridgwater Town another point on the road.
Fey, however, was satisfied with the performance of his players and said the result would be ‘another learning curve’ for them.
He said: “I thought we did really well – performance-wise, we did well and against a strong wind in the first-half we wanted to come in half-time with a clean sheet, which we did.
“The second-half we dominated and had plenty of chances through Chamberlain, Tooze, Knighton and Bushin – but, unfortunately, they hit us on the break and scored a one-on-one with ten minutes to go.
“It’s another learning curve for these young lads and a hard pill to swallow, but we have got some good games coming up and a semifinal, so our season is still alive and we would love to finish higher than last year – especially when we were favourites to go down.
“It would be a great achievement.”
Town have parted company with striker Dean Griffiths and Fey said he would not be commenting further.
The Robins host Swindon Supermarine on Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
